The main activity of CMP JSC is the production of zirconium claddings for fuel elements, from which nuclear fuel assemblies are formed. The zirconium rolled products of the enterprise are used in the fuel of all power and transport reactors in Russia. The enterprise is part of the management circuit of the Fuel Company of Rosatom "TVEL".
The enterprise is actively developing new areas of metallurgy. It manufactures products from titanium alloys, metallic calcium, hafnium, tantalum, niobium, materials for additive technologies. Products of CMP JSC are used in various industries, including shipbuilding, metallurgy, medicine and the oil and gas sector.
A significant activity for the enterprise is the production of superconducting materials for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), which opens up new prospects for the energy of the future. In total, CMP JSC produced 56 thousand kilometres of superconducting wires for ITER. This wire is a unique composite product with a diameter of less than one millimetre, inside which there are more than 10 thousand of the finest superconducting fibers.
