Tantalum is one of the most refractory metals, with a melting point of over 3000° C. It is strong, heavy and ductile, has high heat resistance, chemical and corrosion resistance, which makes it indispensable in areas associated with high temperatures.
Tantalum products are used in aircraft construction, space technology and chemical production, electronics and for the manufacture of electrolytic capacitors and lamp filaments. Tantalum produced at CMP JSC is also used as an alloying component in the production of super-strong steels and alloys.
