CMP JSC supplies zirconium rolled products to all power and transport reactors in Russia. The enterprise has mastered two unique technologies for producing metallic zirconium purified from hafnium: from electrolytic powder and from zirconium sponge.
JSC Chepetsk Mechanical Plant has a full production cycle, starting with the processing of ore concentrate and charge to finished products made of zirconium alloys. To maintain the quality of products, modern methods of non-destructive testing, metallography are used; mechanical and corrosion tests are carried out.
Seamless thin-walled hexagonal zirconium tubes manufactured using a unique technology are used as fuel assembly casings for the most powerful new-generation nuclear icebreakers and the world's first floating nuclear power plant Akademik Lomonosov.
The enterprise also produces zirconium ingots, tubes of various diameters, zirconium crystal bas, wire, sheets, end and component parts for fuel rods and fuel assemblies. In addition, the plant has mastered the production of ceramics based on zirconium dioxide, which is used in the production of sheet glass, electrochemical current generators, pumps in the oil industry and the manufacture of night vision devices.
